The Conficker worm has become active. It has updated via peer to peer dropping its payload off onto each infected host. Since the payload is heavily encrypted it has been a challenging effort to experts to analyze it. It also attempts to connected to MySpace.com, MSN.com, eBay.com, CNN.com and AOL.com as a way to test that infected host has Internet connectivity. More to come...
Be sure to make use of the Conficker Eyechart to make sure that you are not infected.

Conficker is silent
Just as most security professionals have predicted, conficker has greeted April 1st silently. The media frenzy over the worm will likely just desensitize the public into letting collective defenses down for future issues. The good news is that everybody is patched. Hell, I had several family and friends ask me what to do... so, I know I did my job patching family and friends and spreading the word for a safe online security regiment.
